Honda has patented the design of electric bike WN7 in India, it may be launched soon…

Read Auto Desk. Japanese automaker Honda has filed a design patent for its electric motorcycle WN7 in India, hinting that it may arrive in the country soon. Additionally, the WN7 is the production version of the ‘EV Fun’ concept, which was first shown in late 2024.

Honda WN7: Design

According to the patent, the design of Honda WN7 is quite sharp and looks like a naked streetfighter. Its front part looks like a robot, with vertically mounted LED headlights and a special wide DRL (daytime running light). Its internal parts are covered with a smooth body panel, which gives it a rugged fuel tank look. Along with this, vertically mounted headlights and LED daytime running lights make its look even more spectacular. The rider’s cockpit features wide handlebars, round bar-end mirrors and a single-piece seat.

At the rear, the monocoque-style subframe gives it a sleek and streamlined look. At the same time, the single-sided swingarm on the right side beautifully connects the motor located in the middle and the braking system at the rear, giving it a great finish.

Honda WN7: Battery pack and power

According to the Japanese automaker, the Honda WN7 is equipped with a 9.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This battery powers a single electric motor, which produces peak power of 67.57 bhp and torque of 100 Nm. Apart from this, this electric bike of Honda has been designed in such a way that it gives a riding experience like a sports bike with 600cc engine.

Furthermore, the weight of this electric motorcycle is 217 kg. It supports CCS2 fast charging, so that it can charge from 20 percent to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes. At the same time, standard AC charging facility is also available for slow charging or overnight charging.

Honda WN7: When will it arrive in India?

Although filing a patent is an important first step, its commercial launch has not been confirmed yet. In the UK, the price of the WN7 is much higher, at £12,999 (approximately ₹16.74 lakh). Given its high price tag, the WN7 might end up being more of a ‘halo product’ or technology showcase for Honda India than a mass-market product for the masses. Like the WN7, the Honda Airblade was also patented but never launched. All this is happening when Honda recently launched its budget electric scooter, Activa e, in India.
