Hong Kong actor Lee Lung Kei in tears after breakup with 40-year-younger partner, accusing her of deception

Lee, 75, said on Wednesday that his 14-year relationship with Wong, 38, was over, according to local news outlet St Headline. He revealed that he had recently discovered she is married and has children in mainland China, leaving him shocked and distressed.

Fighting back tears, Lee said he had unknowingly become the third party and offered his blessings to her family.

Lee said he did not know Wong was married and felt he was not at fault. After Wong was released from prison in Hong Kong and returned home, she distanced herself and initiated the breakup. The two parted amicably, and Lee said he did not want to do anything that would harm himself or his former partner.

The actor said he started dating Wong before his divorce. Feeling guilty toward his ex-wife, he gave most of his assets to her and their three children. After finalizing his divorce, Lee publicly dated Wong and introduced her at events and to friends.

In Feb. 2024, Wong was arrested for violating Hong Kong residency laws. She used fake U.S. university degrees to apply for preferential entry. In June 2024, she was sentenced to 25 months in prison for seven offenses, including using false documents. She admitted the charges and served 18 months, being released on July 7.

After her release, Wong returned to Foshan City, China, while Lee remained in Hong Kong. In August, amid breakup rumors, Lee said he planned to marry her and that they were committed to the same path. He said he proposed while she was in prison and she accepted.

In mid-December, a YouTuber shared photos of Wong in Foshan, revealing she was married with a child. Sources said she married in 2007 and has a 16-year-old son. After the photos went viral online, Lee confirmed they were of Wong and contacted her to clarify, HK01 newspaper said.

Lee has acted in TVB productions since the 1980s. He is best known for his roles in iconic dramas such as “The Return of the Condor Heroes,” “The Smiling, Proud Wanderer,” “Journey to the West,” and “Forensic Heroes.” He is also a singer.
