Hong Kong actress Linda Chung defies ‘nice girl’ claims with heartfelt message to fan battling Lupus
According to 8 Daysthe fan, a long-time supporter of Chung, had been struggling with Lupus since her teenage years and reached out to the actress while undergoing treatment. To her surprise, Chung responded with a one-minute WhatsApp voice message, offering words of encouragement:
“I am Linda. I heard about what happened to you, and I hope this short message can motivate you to undergo the treatments you need. I hope you can get well soon,” Chung said in the voice message. “But first, don’t worry too much; you must stay positive and believe you can recover. Press on!”

The fan, who eventually made a remarkable recovery, expressed deep gratitude for Chung’s support: “I really want to thank her! In the end, I really miraculously recovered!”
Her post about the interaction quickly went viral, and many others joined in to share their own positive experiences with the actress, calling her an “angel on Earth.”
This touching act of kindness stands in stark contrast to accusations from 2022, when a Vancouver neighbor of Chung’s claimed that the actress was insincere and criticized her for refusing a photo request.
A production company staff member also accused her of being rude to those they considered “beneath her,” calling her “two-faced.”
“When it comes to us lowly-paid workers, her attitude is really bad; she’s known for being like that; everyone in the industry knows that,” the staff wrote online. “She’s really very two-faced; she can change expressions in just one second and return back to being super rude.”
In response, Chung chose not to engage with the allegations, stating that she didn’t feel the need to explain herself to those who already trusted and supported her.

Chung, 40, a Canadian-born Hong Kong actress and singer, first rose to fame in 2004 after winning the Miss Chinese International Pageant. She then became an exclusive actress for TVB and gained recognition through her roles in “Heart Of Greed,” “Brother’s Keeper,” and “Limelight Years,” according to The Strait Times.
In 2018, she left TVB to focus on her family with her husband, chiropractor Jeremy Leung, and their three children.
