Horrific road accident in Mathura, speeding car fell into the canal, painful death of four youths including 2 law students
A heart-wrenching road accident took place late Wednesday night in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, in which four youths lost their lives. The car which was traveling at high speed suddenly went out of control and fell into the canal, due to which all the youths traveling on board died on the spot. This accident has shocked the entire area.
In this incident which took place in Magorra police station area, the darkness of the night made the rescue work even more challenging. After a rescue operation that lasted for several hours, the car was taken out with the help of a crane, but by then all four youths had lost their lives. Two youths among the dead were law students, while they were going to attend a wedding ceremony.
How did the accident happen?
According to the people present there, the Franks car (UP85 CV 9856) going towards Deeg via the bypass route from Mahavan via Govardhan suddenly came to a turn. The driver could not see the road ahead properly and lost control of the vehicle due to the high speed. The car fell straight into the roadside canal. Hearing the loud ‘splash’ sound at the time of falling, the people nearby feared an accident.
Challenges of rescue operation
Local people immediately informed the police. As soon as the information was received, the team of Magorra police station and fire department reached the spot. The dense darkness of the night and the deep water of the canal became a major obstacle in the rescue operation. Fire brigade personnel and police jointly pulled the car out of the canal with the help of a crane. By the time the car came out, all four youths were dead.
Identification and family status of the deceased
The deceased have been identified as Rahul (23 years), Amit (22 years), Mohit and another youth. Amit and Mohit were studying law, while Rahul used to work as a tailor. It is being told that the car belonged to Rahul Verma’s advocate brother Sajjan Singh. The four youths were going to attend a wedding ceremony. As soon as information about the accident was received, there was chaos in the families.
Police investigation and initial reasons
The police have taken possession of all four bodies and sent them for post-mortem. Officials say that prima facie the cause of the accident seems to be high speed and darkness of night. However, other possible reasons are also being investigated. Police are also finding out what was the condition of the driver at the time of the accident and what was the speed of the vehicle.
Local people’s demand and need for security
Local people say that the turn at the place where this accident took place is very dangerous and many accidents have happened in the past also. The residents of the area have demanded the administration to install adequate lighting and warning signs at that place, so that such accidents can be avoided in future.
