murder on charges of blasphemy
Deepu was beaten to death by a mob on Thursday on charges of blasphemy. After the murder, Deepu was tied to a tree and his body was set on fire. It has also been claimed in many reports that if the police had shown courage, Deepu’s life could have been saved. Instead of facing the mob, the policemen handed over Dipu to the people. After Dipu’s murder, Bangladeshi officials have said that no evidence has been found to support the mob’s claims. That means they have not found any evidence to prove that Deepu had committed blasphemy. The police has not found any evidence in which the young man was seen speaking ill of his God.
Taslima shared the video
The video of the time of Deepu’s murder has been shared by famous writer Taslima Nasreen on social media. Taslima wrote that Dipu Das was picked up directly from his factory by anti-Hindu people. Deepu had not committed any crime. Due to the rumours, the floor manager forced her to resign and opened the door without informing the police. Taslima questioned the role of the police and said that the same had happened in the case of Utsav Mandal. Utsav was brought to the police station and then the police themselves finally handed Utsav over to the mob. Hatred against Hindus is increasing in Bangladesh, this is a cause for concern.
