In an interview with HT, he readily acknowledged the importance of a last name in the industry and how a ‘star kid’ easily gets the recognition and support that a normal actor struggles for years.

One of the biggest challenges for artists coming from outside the industry is choosing work. Abhilash explains that outside actors don’t have many options; They have to choose what they are given. He said that as an artist, you spend a lot of time turning down projects you don’t like, and the cycle continues until you get the work you really want. This period of waiting and rejection tests the patience of any artist.

When asked if he ever regrets not being born into a film family, Abhilash honestly replies ‘yes’. According to him, being in the film family is nothing short of a privilege. “If my surname was ‘Kapoor’ or ‘Khan’, things would have been completely different or easier,” he said.

Abhilash believes that if a star kid plays the role of a villain, a drunkard or a simple photographer with confidence, he will be welcomed with open arms. His work will be talked about and the entire industry will stand behind him. In contrast, an outsider has to prove his performance over and over again.

But yes, he also fully admits that if you have talent and industry background, the journey definitely becomes much easier and faster.
