Former Assam Congress president Bhupen Kumar Bora will join BJP on February 22. Congress leaders tried hard to convince Bora. But did not get success. After this, Congress MP from Assam Gaurav Gogoi fiercely targeted CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Bhupesh Bora. Gogoi accused Bhupesh Bora of leaking information about the secret meeting.
Gaurav Gogoi said, ‘There were rumors of close relationship between Himanta Biswa Sarma and Bhupen Bora. We tried our best not to believe these rumors and speculations. Always wondered how a particular journalist close to Himanta Biswa Sarma came to know about the secret meetings? These rumors turned out to be true. Here Gogoi accused Bhupen Bora of leaking information about the secret meeting on a whim.
We will continue the fight: Gaurav Gogoi
Gogoi further said, a day after resigning from Congress, Bhupen Bora had no hesitation in joining BJP and surrendering to Himanta Biswa Sarma. This also shows the frustration of Himanta Biswa Sarma that today the entire state is surprised as to how 4000 acres of land came to belong to one family.

Congress party through its various programs managed to expose the real estate empire of Himanta Biswa Sarma. That is why they had to take this decision to divert public attention. This will not have any impact on the campaign of the Congress Party. We will continue the fight and remove Himanta Biswa Sarma from power.
‘Congress is an ocean, nothing will happen if Bora leaves’
Gaurav Gogoi claimed that Congress is like an ocean. We are all just drops of water in it. Congress existed long before our fathers and forefathers existed. Bhupen Bora’s departure will not have any impact on our party’s prospects in the assembly elections.
Now what will happen to that case?
Gogoi alleged, ‘Last week, CM Sarma had accused Bhupen Bora of making inappropriate gestures towards women. A case was also registered against him. Now what will happen to that case? Apart from Bhupen Bora, the police also registered a case against senior Congress leaders Debabrata Saikia and Meira Borthakur. The police also interrogated him. Now suddenly Bora has become a big Hindu leader.

There will be competition between the real and old Congress
Gaurav Gogoi said, ‘Those who have joined BJP have become inadequate. We can see the example of Sarbananda Sonowal and many more. AGP (Sonowal’s previous party) is on the verge of extinction. He further said that the fight in the coming assembly elections will be between the real Congress and the old Congress. BJP is full of old Congress leaders. He was the most corrupt during the 15 years of Congress rule. Actually we will fight the elections among ourselves.
