John Alford was discovered unresponsive in his cell at HMP Bure in Norfolk, England on the morning of 13 March 2026. Prison staff initially believed he was asleep but quickly realised he had died when they tried to wake him.

Cause of Death Still Under Investigation

The crimes occurred during a party at a property in Hertfordshire in 2022. According to court proceedings, the actor sexually assaulted a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old girl while they were intoxicated. A jury later found him guilty of multiple charges, including sexual activity with a minor and assault.
He began serving his sentence in January 2026, only weeks before his death.
