Who has given India not one but two world champions. Both these world champions are doing archery without hands. One of them, Payal Nag, does not even have legs, but despite that she has now become the champion of the World Para Archery Series 2026. Their coach Kuldeep Kumar Vedhwan has played a very important role in making both of them world champions.

Know the story of coach Kuldeep Kumar Vedhwan

Payal Nag and Sheetal Devi’s coach Kuldeep Kumar Vedhwan was born in a farmer’s family in a small village in UP. After which he lost his mother at the age of just 5 years. He had interest in sports, after which he joined the Indian Army at the age of just 16. Where he did archery for the first time. While learning under Colonel Mohan Singh, he won gold at the national level in archery.

However, after some time he returned to his village and opened Vedhwaan Archery Academy there. Where he taught archery to about 300 young players. After which in the year 2017, he joined Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Sports Complex. Where he gave 3 world champions. He trained Rakesh Kumar, Sheetal Devi and Payal Nag here.

Coach changed Payal Nag’s life

Payal Nag had lost both hands and legs in childhood. However, even after that she did not lose courage. She used to paint with her mouth. Seeing him, Kuldeep Kumar recognized his talent and brought him to his academy. After which today Payal Nag has become world champion. Earlier, Kuldeep Kumar had made Sheetal Devi the champion at the world level. In future, they are preparing more superstar players like Payal and Sheetal.
