New Delhi: Actress Disha Patani’s father Jagdish Singh Patani, was allegedly cheated of Rs 25 lakh by a group of scammers. Five individuals promised him a high-ranking post in a government commission, as per PTI report.
Now, an FIR has been registered at Bareilly Fotwali police station on Friday, November 15 evening by Disha Patani’s father. He is a retired deputy superintendent of police. Let’s delve into more details!
Disha Patani’s father duped of Rs 25 lakh
An FIR has been registered against five people – Shivendra Pratap Singh, Acharya Jayaprakash, Diwakar Garg, Preeti Garg, and an unidentified person. They have been booked on charges of criminal intimidation, extortion, and cheating.
According to the complaint, Jagdish Patani alleged that his known person Shivendra Pratap Singh introduced him to Diwakar Garg and Acharya Jayaprakash, who claimed to have powerful political connections. He then promised him a high-ranking position in a government commission. Later, the accused even promised to return his money with interest.
He was then cheated of Rs 25 lakh by Disha Patani’s father. They asked for Rs 20 lakh through money transfers to three different accounts and Rs 5 lakh in cash. However, there was no progress for three months, leaving Jagdish suspicious. He then demanded his money back but was threatened by them, as per the officials.
Jagdish also accused the frauds of misleading him by posing as an “officer on special duty” to make him trust their false claims.

Meanwhile, Disha Patani was last seen in Suriya and Bobby Deol starrer A while. She will be next seen in comedy film, Welcome To The Jungle, featuring Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Suniel Shetty, Lara Dutta, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Johnny Lever, and Paresh Rawal, among others. The film is scheduled to release in December this year.
