How is SP looking at the ‘Shankaracharya’ controversy? What is the plan against BJP government?

It has been more than a month since the dispute between Jyotirmath Jyotish Peeth’s Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati and Yogi Adityanath government. The controversy that started over bathing at Triveni Sangam in Magh Mela in Prayagraj has now reached a serious legal level. There is a lot of politics going on in this matter. Not only this, religious traditions, administrative rules, personal allegations and counter-allegations are being rained into the dispute. But the main characters in this controversy are Swami Avimukteshwaranand and CM Yogi Adityanath. Apart from this, everyone else has joined in.

This dispute took place due to bathing in Magh Mela on the day of Mauni Amavasya Snan. On this day Shankaracharya was going to take Sangam bath with his traditional palanquin and umbrella. During this time the fair administration and police stopped them. Citing rules, the administration refused to allow Shankaracharya to go to the bathing ghat in his convoy and palanquin. The administration said that this step could lead to a stampede at the fair. During this time, there was a scuffle and a scuffle with his disciples.

As soon as this government action was taken against Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand and his disciples, the main opposition party of Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party also jumped into the controversy. SP is accusing the Yogi government of insulting Shankaracharya. Former Chief Minister and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is seeing it as an insult to Sanatan Dharma and Shankaracharya by the BJP government. In such a situation, let us know how the Samajwadi Party is cornering the Yogi government over the ‘Shankaracharya’ controversy…

Shankaracharya and Samajwadi Party

Shankaracharya claimed that for the first time in history during the Yogi government, it happened that Shankaracharya left the fair without taking a bath. He accused the Yogi government of being ‘anti-Sanatan’ and a fake Hindu. He also called CM Yogi Adityanath a fake saint who is greedy for power. Actually, Yogi government has filed an FIR against Swami Avimukteshwarananda under the POCSO Act and charges of stopping Magh Mela/bath. Samajwadi Party has openly criticized the Yogi government on this issue and termed it a political conspiracy.

SP’s stand and plan

As the Yogi government is tightening its grip on Shankaracharya, SP National President Akhilesh Yadav is repeatedly addressing Shankaracharya by calling him ‘respectable by all of us’. He has said that it is necessary to save the honor of Shankaracharya. He alleged that the Yogi government has registered a false case against Shankaracharya by taking out a 20 year old incident. He said that the government is insulting Shankaracharya by this.

Akhilesh Yadav said that the government calls itself saffron-wearing and Sanatani but by making such allegations against revered Shankaracharya, it is insulting him. He said that this is strengthening the PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) alliance. Samajwadi Party termed the FIR as motivated by political vendetta and claimed that the complainant had links with BJP leaders. SP has appealed to the people to stand up to honor Shankaracharya and raise their voice against the government.

Where does Akhilesh Yadav stand?

Akhilesh Yadav was on a tour of Unnao and Kanpur recently. During this, he said in this connection, ‘Insulting Shankaracharya Avimukteshwarananda is not acceptable under any circumstances.’ He said that this is the character of BJP, they file false cases to silence anyone who speaks against them.

SP is repeatedly repeating in the statements issued on its official social media handle that the government is trying to implicate Shankaracharya. SP spokesperson is also repeating the same thing in TV debates and calling BJP an attack on Sanatan. So overall

Samajwadi Party is making this controversy a big political weapon against the BJP government in UP. The party is presenting this controversy and the action taken against Shankaracharya among the public by linking it with the protection of Sanatan Dharma and social justice. That means the party’s stand is clear that it completely stands with Shankaracharya.
