News Desk. America has a huge fleet of F-35, one of the most advanced and highly praised fighter jets in the world. As per the latest reports till March 2026, the US Army has so far inducted more than 750 F-35 aircraft into its fleet.
Distribution of F-35 in US Army
The distribution of these aircraft among the three major US military branches is as follows:
1.US Air Force (USAF): The branch has the largest F-35 fleet, consisting of approximately 470 to 500 F-35As.
2.US Marine Corps (USMC): The Marine Corps has about 150 to 200 aircraft, including the F-35B (with vertical landing capability) and the F-35C (carrier based).
3.US Navy (USN): The US Navy has about 60 to 80 F-35C aircraft, which specialize in maritime operations.
Countries that have the F-35 currently in active service:
Israel: The only country in the Middle East, which has about 50-75 aircraft (F-35I “Adir”).
Japan: Around 40-45 aircraft are active and the total target is 147 aircraft.
Australia: Has so far received all 72 aircraft of its original order.
United Kingdom (UK): Operating approximately 41-48 F-35B aircraft.
Italy: The target is about 90 aircraft, of which 60-70 have been received.
South Korea: Operating a fleet of approximately 40-60 aircraft.
Norway: Has completed its order for 52 aircraft.
Netherlands: Has received approximately 37-42 aircraft.
Denmark: About 15 aircraft are currently in the country, and a total of 27 are on order.
Countries starting to receive deliveries or have placed orders:

Singapore: Due to receive its first 4 aircraft in 2026 (total order of 20).
Canada: First deliveries are expected in 2026 (total order of 88).
Poland: The first aircraft are due to begin delivery in 2026 (total order of 32).
Belgium: The first aircraft has been received and more deliveries will follow through 2026.
Finland: Rollout of first aircraft in December 2025, training to begin in 2026.
Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Greece and Romania:They have also placed large orders and are waiting for delivery.
