After the incident, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee issued a statement on X saying that she’s disturbed and shocked by the mismanagement at Salt Lake Stadium.

How much did Lionel Messi’s night stay in Hyatt Regency cost?

Messi arrived in Kolkata for the three-day GOAT India Tour at midnight on Saturday, December 13. He was taken out of the airport to the hotel at around 3:30 PM (IST). Only a few lucky airport staff managed to get a glimpse of the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner.

He stepped out of the private Gulfstream V aircraft in a black suit over a white T-shirt. As he arrived at the Hyatt Regency, the lobby turned chaotic as fans sprinted across corridors, shouting “Messi, Messi”.

According to a PTI report, he checked into Room 730, and the entire seventh floor was sealed off to ensure no movement around his suite. While the exact rate of the room could not be ascertained, the official website of the hotel showed the Presidential Suite (including a kitchenette, separate sitting area, separate work area, and eight-seat dining area)unavailable for December 13.

For December 14, the Suite cost is Rs 1,42,500 for one night, while the Diplomatic Suite costs around Rs 1,12,500 per night. The Regency Executive Suite is around Rs 51,000 per night, and the Regency Suite King is around Rs 38,000 per night. Considering this, it is very likely that Lionel Messi is staying in one of these suites in the Hyatt Regency.
