The name of this mansion is Chomu Palace JaipurIt is located about 45 kms on NH-11 from The palace is now known as a hotel. Talking about its history, this palace is more than 350 years old. Rao Gopalji, a descendant of the royal family from Jaipur, started the construction of this palace in the 1550s. Originally built as a fortified residence for Umrao and generals, this grand palace was later converted into a luxurious heritage hotel.

Which films have been shot?

Many Bollywood movies have been shot in this mansion. First, in 1996, Chomu Palace was used for the shooting of the movie ‘Loafer’. Later in 2007 Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’ was shot here. After this, the shooting of the film ‘Gulal’ was also done in this palace in 2009. Later in 2011, Chaumun Palace was seen in the movie ‘Queen’ and Ajay Devgan’s movie ‘Bol Bachchan’ was also shot in Chaumun Palace. Now this palace has been turned into a ghost palace in ‘Bhoot Bungalow’.

How to reach Chomu Palace from Mumbai?

Aircraft: The quickest option would be to fly to the palace from Mumbai. From Jaipur Airport, hire a taxi or book a private car for the last 30-40 km (approx. 1 hour) to Chomu Palace.

By Rail: If the budget is tight then the rail option is best for you. For this, take a train from Mumbai Central (MMCT) or Bandra Terminus (BDTS) to Jaipur Junction (JP). To reach Chomu Palace from Jaipur you have to take a local taxi or cab.

By bus: There are direct bus services available from Mumbai to Jaipur through services like Paytm or Private Travels (approximately 27-28 hours), followed by the option of local taxis.
