Mumbai Shahrukh Khan definitely remembers his parents on every big occasion. Recently he was in an event in Dubai. There was a launch of a tower here which is named after Shahrukh. Shahrukh told the turning point of life
Shahrukh Khan said at the event, ‘Since we are all talking about this, the moment that changed my life was when my parents passed away at a very young age. I thought they became stars in the sky. I thought that since he has become a star, he won’t be able to see me. So I worked very hard to become a big man. God was very kind. Recently I have placed a statue of Apna Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenga in London. I got a national award. Now there is also a building named after me in Dubai. My aim was to become so big on this earth that my parents could look at me from above. This was a life-changing moment for me. After this, Farah pointed towards the tower and said, ‘This is as close to the sky as one can go.’ On this Shahrukh said, ‘I hope they can see me.’
How did the parents die?
Shahrukh Khan’s father Taj Mohammed died of cancer. At that time Shahrukh was only 14 years old. After 10 years, his mother Latif Fatima also passed away. He had problems related to diabetes. This incident had a great impact on Shahrukh Khan’s elder sister Shehnaz Lalrukh and she remained in depression.
