How to Enter The Squid Game event in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Call of Duty has recently introduced an exciting crossover event featuring Netflix’s hit series, Squid Game. This collaboration brings new game modes, challenges, and rewards to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Here’s how you can dive into the action and make the most of this unique event.
Event Overview
The Squid Game event is available from January 3 to January 24, 2025. During this period, players can participate in various limited-time modes (LTMs) across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone, each inspired by the deadly games from the series. Additionally, an in-game Event Pass offers themed rewards, including Operator skins, weapon blueprints, and more.
Getting Started
- Update Your Game: Ensure that your Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 or Warzone is updated to the latest version to access the event content.
- Access the Event: Navigate to the ‘Events’ tab in the main menu to find the Squid Game event. Here, you can view available LTMs, track your progress in the Event Pass, and see the rewards up for grabs.
Limited-Time Modes
The event introduces several LTMs that bring the Squid Game experience to life:
- Red Light, Green Light (Multiplayer): Inspired by the show’s iconic game, players compete in the Red Card stadium over three rounds, each lasting two minutes. In Round 1, no weapons are provided. In Rounds 2 and 3, weapons can be picked up for melee attacks and finishing moves. When Young-hee says “Green Light,” players can move and attack. If she says “Red Light,” any movement results in elimination.
- Pentathlon (Multiplayer): This mode combines various game types, including Domination, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, and two new variants: Piggy Bank Team Deathmatch and Roulette. In Piggy Bank TDM, eliminations contribute to a Mega Piggy Bank, which drops mid-match for a significant score boost. In Roulette, players use a special handgun with one-shot eliminations, but each shot carries the risk of backfiring.
- Squid Game Moshpit (Multiplayer): A mix of Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint with unique Squid Game mechanics:
- Red Light, Green Light Scorestreak: Activates a “Red Light” command, forcing enemies to stop moving or face elimination.
- Piggy Bank: Eliminated players may drop a Piggy Bank, granting a score boost when collected. The Mega Piggy Bank accumulates score from all eliminations and drops later in the match.
- Roulette Handgun: Spawns centrally, offering one-shot kills and a UAV effect. However, each shot risks the weapon exploding, leading to self-elimination.
- Dead Light, Green Light (Zombies): Set in Liberty Falls and the new Citadelle des Morts map, this mode challenges players during “Green Light” phases to earn bonus Essence by eliminating zombies. During “Red Light,” any movement drains Essence. The “Dead Light” phase introduces tougher enemy waves, testing players’ survival skills.
- Squid Game – Warzone (Urzikstan): Squads face rotating challenges, with underperforming teams eliminated after each round. At any moment, a round of Red Light, Green Light can commence, requiring players to halt movement during “Red Light” to avoid elimination.
Event Pass and Rewards
The Squid Game Event Pass is free for all players, with an optional Premium Track available for 1,100 COD Points. By earning XP in Multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone, players can unlock rewards such as:
- Free Track: Includes the “Player 006” Operator Skin, “Player 115” Operator Skin, loading screens, emblems, stickers, calling cards, and the new Cleaver melee weapon.
- Premium Track: Offers additional rewards like the “High Authority” XM4 Assault Rifle Blueprint, blueprints for the Knife, GS45 Pistol, and Saug SMG, a Concussion Grenade equipment skin, a finishing move, the “Throwdown” emote, and the “Who’s Left” Talking Gun Screen.
