  • Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – as per taste

How to make fried idli

To prepare fried idli, first cut the remaining idli into small cubes. Keep in mind that the idli should not be too soft, otherwise it may break while frying. Light hard idli is perfect for this recipe.

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When mustard seeds start crackling, add curry leaves and green chillies. After this, add finely chopped onion and fry till it becomes light golden, so that the taste is good.

Now add capsicum and cook for 2-3 minutes until it becomes slightly crunchy. After this add turmeric, red chilli powder and salt and mix well, so that the spices get cooked well.

Now put the chopped idli in the pan and stir gently so that the spices are coated well. Fry the idli on medium flame for 5-7 minutes until they become crispy. Finally sprinkle chaat masala and garnish with green coriander and serve.
