Ingredients to make Milk Cake

  • Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Water-1/2 cup (for syrup)
  • few saffron threads
  • Milk- half liter
  • Corn flour- 2 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder- half teaspoon
  • Sugar- 4 tbsp
  • Fresh cream or malai – 1 cup
  • Milk Rusks or Toast
  • Pistachios- 5-7
  • Almonds 5-7 (to garnish)

How to make milk cake

  • To make milk cake, first pour half a cup of water in a pan and then add sugar and some saffron in it.
  • Then cook it well on low flame. So that strings start forming in it. Due to which the syrup will be good.
  • Now take corn flour in a bowl. Then add 3 to 4 tablespoons milk and mix it well.
  • After this add cardamom powder, sugar and cream. Then keep stirring it well until it boils.
  • Now mix the corn flour mixture that has already been prepared and make it thick. Due to which it will become like rabri.
  • Then spread the milk rusk/toast in a serving dish. Pour pre-prepared hot sugar syrup over it.
  • Make sure all sides of the toast are submerged in the syrup. Apply a layer of milk rabri on top of it.
  • Repeat this entire process 3 times, as three layers will be ready.
  • Now garnish the top layer with finely chopped pistachios and almonds and leave it to set for two hours.
  • Now just take it out from the fridge, cut it into square pieces and enjoy.
