Ingredients for making Palak Paneer

  • 1 kg spinach
  • 1 onion puree
  • 2 cherry tomato puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin masala
  • Red chilli as per requirement
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ghee
  • Salt as per requirement
  • 2 green chillies
  • Water as per requirement
  • 250 grams paneer
  • Fresh cream as per requirement for garnishing

Method of making Palak Paneer

To make Palak Paneer, first wash the spinach thoroughly and boil it for 5 to 6 minutes. Keep the boiled spinach aside and leave it to cool. When the spinach cools down, add two green chillies to it and put it in a mixer jar and make a paste.

Now heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds and finely chopped ginger to it. Fry the garlic in ghee until the aroma of garlic starts coming from it. After this, add the onion paste prepared earlier and cook this entire mixture well for 1 to 2 minutes. Now add tomato paste to it and cook this whole mixture well for 4 to 5 minutes.

After this, add salt and red chili powder as per taste. Then cook this mixture well for 3 to 4 minutes. After this, add spinach paste to it and mix it well. Cook this whole mixture for 3 to 4 minutes. When it starts thickening a little, then add some water to it. Now add freshly cut pieces of paneer to this mixture. Keep in mind that you do not have to cook the paneer pieces for a long time. As soon as you add paneer, mix the spinach gravy well and cook for a few more minutes. Your tasty palak paneer is ready, serve it hot.
