How to make Tomato Pulao
Tomato Pulao is a tasty and healthy dish. To prepare this, first wash the rice thoroughly and soak it for 20-25 minutes. This will make the rice puffy and separate.
Heat oil or ghee in a pan or pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds in it and when it starts crackling, add onion and fry till it becomes light golden. After this, add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies and cook till the aroma comes out.
Now add chopped tomatoes and let them melt well. After this, add turmeric, red chilli powder, garam masala and salt and cook the spices well, until the oil starts separating.
Take out the soaked rice from water and add it to the spices and mix gently. Now add water to it and let it boil. If you are making it in a cooker then let it whistle for 1-2 whistles.
If you are making it in a pan, cover it and cook on low flame for 10-12 minutes. When the rice is completely cooked, turn off the gas. Lightly flatten the prepared pulao and sprinkle green coriander on top and serve hot. Serve it with curd, raita or pickle.
