How to trade Pokémon FireRed on Switch?
Want to trade on Pokémon FireRed through Switch? Here is all you need to know about it! Follow the guide to know the steps for the same and how you can trade the Pokémon this way. We’ll explore it in detail.
What is trading on Switch in Pokémon FireRed?
Trading in the Switch version of Pokémon FireRed goes old and classic. Unlike the latest versions of games, things go a bit nostalgic. Since it’s a port of the GBA classic, you can’t just hop online and trade with someone across the world. Instead, it relies on Local Wireless. You and a friend need to be in the same room for this to happen. This will be when you both are on your Switches. You need to head to the second floor of any Pokémon Center and talk to the lady at the desk to enter the Union Room. Once your characters see each other, you just walk up and press A to swap. It is not detailed, and the simplicity makes it even more fun. So, you can try it out whenever you are with a friend on a Switch.
Steps to trade Pokémon FireRed on Switch
If you want to trade while being on Switch, here is all you need to do.
Get Ready
Make the preparations beforehand! You have to ensure that both players have delivered Oak’s Parcel in Pallet Town and received their Pokédex. You also need at least two Pokémon in your party to initiate a trade. Try to do all of it before you can go for a trade.
Go Upstairs
You don’t have to look around much for this! Go to any Pokémon Center in the game and take the stairs to the second floor.
Talk to the Attendant
Approach the NPC at the far-right desk. This is the Wireless Communication Club, which will lead you to the further rung of the ladder.
Set Up the Room
Once you are there, one of you needs to select “Become Leader” to host the session. The other player should select “Join Group” and pick the leader’s name from the list. This will bring the two together.
Start the Trade
Once your character avatars appear in the Union Room, simply walk up to your friend’s character and press A to trigger the trade menu. That’s it! Now you have done the most important part. You can now just follow the prompts on the screen to swap your favorite Pokémon.
It is honestly a fun way to spend some time with friends and also play in an old-school way.
