Keeping in view the safety of farmers, the Meteorological Department has started a new initiative, through which now people will not die due to lightning. Actually, the Meteorological Department has launched such an app, which will alert you 40 minutes before the lightning about what time and where the lightning is going to fall. How does Damini App work?

To protect against the threat of lightning, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has introduced a useful mobile app named ‘DAMINI’. It has been prepared by the famous institute IITM of Pune. This app monitors incidents of lightning across the country.

If there is a possibility of lightning within a radius of 20 to 40 kilometers from your location, it warns you 40 minutes in advance through GPS. With the help of prior information, you can save your life by going to a safe place in time.

• First of all download DAMINI app from Play Store or App Store and complete your registration.

• In this, information about lightning strike is given by two colored signals.
• Yellow color gives warning 10 minutes in advance, while blue color also alerts you in time.
