Huawei Mate XT 2 design leaked: The phone will come with new Tri-Fold folding system and Kirin 9050 Pro chip

Huawei is working on its new foldable smartphone. The company launched the world’s first Tri-Fold smartphone Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design in the year 2024. Now the company can introduce Huawei Mate XT 2 as its successor. Although Huawei has not yet shared any official information about Mate XT 2, a new patent has revealed many important information about the design and folding mechanism of the phone.

Huawei Mate XT 2 will get a new inward folding design
Tipster Ice Universe has shared some patent documents on social media platform X, which are said to be related to Huawei Mate XT 2. According to the patent image, the company can make major design changes in the new tri-fold phone as compared to the old model. While outward folding design was given in Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design, inward folding mechanism can be seen in the new model.

According to the leaked patent, both the side panels of the phone will fold inwards over the main flexible display. The left panel may fold inward first, after which the right panel will fold. This design looks similar to the folding system like Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold.

Dedicated cover display and new camera design
The patent images suggest that the Huawei Mate XT 2 may also feature a separate cover display. This will be a different design change from the existing Mate XT Ultimate Design. Apart from this, a circular camera module is visible in the middle of the back of the phone. At the same time, Star Diamond camera module has been given in the current Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design.

Possible features of Huawei Mate XT 2
According to leaks, Huawei Mate XT 2 can be launched in October this year. The company’s new Kirin 9050 Pro chipset is expected to be available in the phone. Apart from this, the smartphone is likely to have features like 6000mAh battery, new Tri-Fold design, and large foldable display.

Features of Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design
Let us tell you that Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design was launched in China in the year 2024. Its 16GB RAM and 256GB storage variant was priced at 19,999 Chinese Yuan (about Rs 2.35 lakh). This smartphone has a 10.2 inch foldable display (when completely unfolded), Kirin 9010 chipset, 50 megapixel rear camera, 5600mAh battery, 66W wired and 50W wireless charging support.

With Huawei Mate XT 2, the company can introduce another major upgrade in the Tri-Fold smartphone segment. However, before launch, we will have to wait for official information regarding its price and features.
