Huge ruckus in JDU, Manipur state president removed, letter issued to separate from NDA
Patna: Everything is not going well inside Nitish Kumar's party. JDU has removed its state president in Manipur. JDU has taken this decision after the letter issued by State President Virendra Singh regarding separation from NDA.
Jitan Ram Manjhi took U-turn after leaving the post of minister, gave a strange argument in clarification
Manipur JDU state president Virendra Singh had written a letter to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Wednesday announcing withdrawal of support from BJP. He had written in his letter that JD(U)'s only MLA in Manipur, Mohammad Abdul Nasir, has been made to sit on the opposition bench in the last session of the assembly. It is also reiterated that JD(U), Manipur unit does not support the BJP led state government in Manipur, and our lone MLA Mohammed Abdul Nasir will be treated as an opposition MLA in the House.”
To calm the ruckus after the letter issued by Virendra Singh regarding withdrawal of support, JDU removed Virendra Singh from the post of state president. Clearing its stand, JDU said that Janata Dal United has removed its Manipur state party president Virendra Singh, who had written this letter, from the post of state president. Virendra Singh has been relieved on charges of indiscipline. Support continues for the BJP government in Manipur. Along with Manipur, in Bihar and also in the Centre, Janata Dal United stands strongly in support of BJP.
JDU leader Neeraj Kumar said, “JDU is an integral part of NDA, we have an important role in the central government. While the state unit of Manipur took the decision against one of their MLAs, the party immediately ensured action against him. We are an integral part of NDA, there is no rift… Immediate action was taken… ‘Nitish again from 2025 to 30’ in Bihar, this is the slogan of NDA…”
JD(U) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad said, “This is misleading and baseless. The party has taken cognizance of this and the Manipur unit president of the party has been relieved from his post. We have supported NDA and will continue our support to the NDA government in Manipur. The Manipur unit did not communicate with the central leadership, they were not taken into confidence. He (Manipur JDU chief) himself had written the letter. Considering this as indiscipline, action has been taken against him and he has been relieved from the post… We are with the NDA and the state unit will continue to serve the people of Manipur and contribute to the development of the state.”
