Murder, stone pelting, burqa and even fake voting, huge ruckus in UP By-Election

UP By-Election 2024: Voting was held today on 9 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Voting started from 7 am in the morning, which continued till 5 pm. Talking about nine seats of UP, it includes Ghaziabad, Meerapur, Katehari, Majhwan, Sisamau, Phulpur Karhal, Khair and Kundarki. The fate of a total of 90 candidates is at stake on these 9 seats. At the same time, there was a lot of chaos on four out of nine seats on the election day. At some places there was news of stone pelting, murder at some places, burqas at some places and fake voting at some places.

Dalit girl murdered in Karhat

The news of murder of a Dalit girl during voting from Karhat seat came to light. According to the girl's father, his daughter was murdered just because she had said to vote for BJP. The girl's father has accused the SP leader of murdering his daughter. The girl's body was found in a naked state. At present the police have registered the case and are investigating.

Stone pelting on police force in Meerapur

After Karhat seat, news of stone pelting came to light in Meerapur, where policemen standing at the bus stand were pelted with stones from the rooftop. Many policemen including the station in-charge were injured in this stone pelting. Meerapur is a Muslim dominated area.

Police did ID check of voters in Kundarki

At the same time, a video from Kundarki seat is going viral on social media, in which SP candidate Haji Rizwan is opposing the police as they are checking the IDs of the voters coming to the polling station to vote.

Uproar over burqa in Sisamau seat

Apart from this, there was a huge uproar in Sisamau seat too, where the police has been accused of revealing the identity of Muslim women by removing their niqab. SP national president Akhilesh Yadav has accused the police administration of disrupting voting in this way. Let us tell you that the results of by-elections for 9 seats in UP will be declared on 23 November.
