Prime Minister Modi clarified India’s stand on the ongoing situation in Gaza and reiterated India’s support for the Gaza Peace Initiative. He described this as an important step towards a lasting and true peace in Gaza. PM Modi said, “India’s vision is clear that humanity should never become a victim of war. The Gaza Peace Plan has opened the way for peace. India has supported such diplomatic efforts and in future also we will continue to cooperate and dialogue with all countries.”
Let us tell you, the Prime Minister also highlighted the common intention of India and Israel in facing global security challenges. He said, “India and Israel completely agree that there is no place for terrorism in the world. Terrorism cannot be accepted in any form. We will continue to fight against terrorism and its supporters.”
While reiterating his support for the US-led Gaza Peace Initiative, PM Modi also referred to his speech in the Knesset on Wednesday, in which he described it as a “path” towards a “just and durable peace” for the Middle East. PM Modi said, “The Gaza Peace Initiative, which was approved by the UN Security Council, provides a way forward. India has expressed its strong support for this initiative. We believe that it promises a just and durable peace for all the people of the region, including resolving the Palestine issue.”
At the same time, PM Modi said that the path to peace is not always easy, but India will stand with the whole world for dialogue, peace and stability in this region. He described India’s mission as inspired by wisdom, courage and humanity and assured that every effort of India will be in the direction of peace.
This was PM Modi’s second visit to Israel. Earlier in 2017, he had made his first historic journey. During this, further strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries was also discussed.
