‘Humayun Kabir’s deal worth Rs 1000 crore for Muslim votes’?
Bureau Prayagraj- A viral video of Humayun Kabir, who had created a political storm by talking about building Babri Masjid in Bengal, has created a big controversy before the elections. TMC has released a viral video on social media and claimed that Humayun Kabir had demanded Rs 1000 crore from BJP to defeat Mamata Banerjee.
On the basis of the video, the party claimed that Humayun was in touch with leader of opposition Shubhendu Adhikari and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. TMC has demanded ED to investigate this matter. It is being called a sting operation on social media, but Humayun Kabir has dismissed it as an AI video and said that if he has evidence of meeting BJP leaders then release it.
The authenticity of the viral video could not be confirmed. But TMC has made it a big issue on Thursday on the basis of this video. Three big leaders of TMC also held a press conference on this. In the viral video, Kabir can be heard purportedly revealing his connections with senior BJP leaders and talking about trying to defeat Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the upcoming assembly elections.
TMC made this video public in a press conference and alleged that in it Kabir has talked about defeating Mamata Banerjee under a plan worth crores of rupees in collaboration with BJP.
In the video shared by TMC, Kabir is reportedly saying that he can go to any extent to remove Mamata Banerjee from power. He has claimed to be in contact with Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Subhendu Adhikari, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the Prime Minister’s Office i.e. PMO.
Kabir also reportedly said that he had received advice from the PMO to coordinate with leaders from other BJP-ruled states. In the video, he was heard talking about the strategy to take away minority votes from TMC. He said that BJP will benefit from this. In the video he stated the need of hundreds of crores of rupees to implement the plan. Kabir also reportedly said that raising the Babri Masjid issue could prove more effective in influencing minority votes, even if the issue is not ultimately implemented.
In the press conference, TMC said, ‘Humayun Kabir has been completely exposed. In the sting operation he openly admitted that he was fully sponsored by BJP. They are hired soldiers working on the money of BJP, who are working to divide communities, mislead the public and divide votes in Bengal.
Humayun Kabir, founder of Aam Janata Unnayan Party i.e. AJUP, has responded to these allegations. He told news agency AINS, ‘Let them say. They should give proof as to which BJP leader I met or which leader met me. If you have courage then show some video, then I will accept whatever they say.
Humayun Kabir has formed his new party after being suspended from TMC last year. He is contesting on several seats in the 2026 assembly elections in alliance with Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM. And meanwhile, his latest video controversy has further heated up the politics of Bengal.
