1. New rules for ticket refund and cancellation (Refund Rules)

Following the intervention of the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), companies like Air India, IndiGo and Akasa Air have introduced these facilities for passengers:

Zero Cancellation Charge: If your flight is canceled due to war, you can get a full refund of the ticket price. No additional fee will be deducted for this.

Free Re-Scheduling: Passengers can reschedule their journey to any subsequent date up to 7 March 2026 without any extra charges.

Credit Shell: Many airlines are also offering the option of a ‘credit shell’ in lieu of a refund, which can be used for future bookings.

2. Which airlines and routes are affected?
