It’s brotherly love.
A husband has been left horrified after uncovering that his longtime wife slept with his younger brother before they tied the knot 20 years ago.
“I feel pain, violated, and almost irrationally angry that this ‘secret’ was common knowledge in my family, but I was clueless,” the stunned spouse, who is aged in his mid-50s, revealed in a recently resurfaced Reddit post.
The hubby, who goes by @JahgMeeHoff on Reddit, took to the site to seek counsel from other users.
“My brother had a date(s) with my wife several weeks before we started dating. I never knew. They kept it a secret all these years,” he wrote. “I realize it is ancient history, but we have had our marriage issues like every couple over the years.”
The shocking secret tryst became public during a family dinner, where the Redditor’s sister-in-law spilled the beans on the previously undisclosed information.
After asking his brother for further information, the husband learned that his sibling and his spouse had sex on multiple occasions.
“They were intimate/smashed regularly,” the enraged Redditor wrote. “More than a ‘few’ times. Was more FWB [friends with benefits]close down the street where they lived. I guess both were busy horny young professionals. Who wasn’t [when they were] in their twenties?”
“That part is really not my business before us, just feels weird my brother banged my wife,” he added. “He raw dogged her. She was pregnant very shortly after we started dating. We got married pretty quick. It was exciting.”
The revelation has caused a rift between the Redditor and his wife, and he is now questioning the future of his marriage.
“My wife won’t pick up the phone. I already had trust issues from things she has done in our relationship in her mid-40’s,” he stated. “My wife and I already sleep apart.”
Many Redditors were shocked by the family’s joint efforts to keep the relationship a secret for so long.
“The most painful part here is everyone around him knowing and purposefully keeping it from him,” wrote one person.
“Having a secret held like that behind your back for so long feels like a betrayal,” added another.
Meanwhile, some users are concerned his firstborn might not be his biological child.
“Wait a damn minute, they had copious amounts of unprotected sex weeks before y’all started dating, and she became pregnant very quickly once y’all started dating?! Are you sure your oldest is biologically yours?” commented an alarmed reader.
Despite the heartbreaking revelation, the Redditor updated followers by saying that he hopes he can work things out with his wife — and rebuild trust with his younger brother.
“I know I’m angry right now. I see red thinking about it. I guess I’m embarrassed everyone else knew and I was the unknowing fool. So humiliating,” he wrote.
