Hussain Talat Rushed to Hospital After Shoulder Injury
The Pakistan all-rounder Hussain Talat was taken to the hospital after he injured his left shoulder while attempting to stop a boundary in the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh.
The visitors secured a stunning victory in the rain-affected game in the Pakistan tour of Bangladesh 2026.
The injury happened during the sixth over of the chase when Talat ran towards the cover boundary after Litton Das made a stroke in offside on Mohammad Wasim’s delivery.
Talat attempted to drag the ball, but it got close to the boundary, and he stepped on the foam as he touched the ball.
He tumbled into the advertising hoardings, landing heavily on his left-shoulder. The bystanders rushed towards Hussain Talat, before a stretcher was brought on to take him to the nearby ambulance.
The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that Talat had suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to the hospital for further tests.
“Talat received immediate medical attention from the team’s medical staff on the field. Following the initial assessment, he has been taken to a hospital for a detailed examination.”
“The nature and extent of the injury will be determined after the doctors complete further medical evaluation, said a PCB statement.
The match had stopped for a brief time after Talat was injured by lightning strikes, sending the players indoors, and a hailstorm kept them there. Pakistan got a strong foothold in the second game, scoring 274 after a half-century from Maaz Sadaqat.
Shaheen Afridi got into the act with the new ball and struck twice with the new ball, leaving Bangladesh struggling 27 runs for 3 in 6.3 overs when the weather turned wild.
Bangladesh still needed 248 runs when the match was halted. However, they failed to chase the revised target as they got bowled out for 114 runs.
With the series levelled at 1-1, the final game will be played on March 15 at Shere Bangla, Dhaka.
