Hyderabad police summons Allu Arjun in connection with Sandhya theater incident
Earlier in the day, a group of lawyers were seen arriving at Allu Arjun's house in Jubilee Hills. He was seen carrying a folder and bag while entering the house for the meeting. The lawyers left after a long discussion late at night.
A group of people demanding justice for the death of a woman named Revathi in the Sandhya theater tragedy had attacked the Pushpa actor's residence on December 22. According to DCP West Zone, Hyderabad, the group suddenly arrived at Allu Arjun's residence, holding placards and raising slogans. One of them climbed the compound wall and started throwing stones, prompting the security staff to intervene. In the brawl that followed, protesters damaged flower pots along the ramp and scuffled with security personnel. Six persons claiming to be part of Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC) were detained. Later he was granted bail.
Earlier, Pushpa 2 producers, Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar handed over a check of Rs 50 lakh to the family of the victim in the presence of Telangana's Roads and Buildings and Cinematography Minister, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy at KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad. The check was received by the father of Revati's husband, Mr. Tej, who is undergoing treatment in the hospital. This incident has also given rise to political controversy. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy blamed Allu Arjun for the tragedy and said in the Assembly that the police had refused permission for any program at the Sandhya Theater due to security concerns. The actor rejected the allegations of misconduct, calling them an attempt at “character assassination”. (ANI)
