Hyderabad won due to the strong innings of Abhishek and Klaasen, defeated CSK by 10 runs
In the 27th match of IPL 2026, an exciting clash was seen between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. In this match, Hyderabad, batting first, scored 194 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs and finally won by defeating Chennai by 10 runs on the basis of excellent bowling.
Abhishek Sharma hit a fifty
After winning the toss, Chennai chose to bowl first, but Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma adopted an aggressive stance from the beginning. He gave a fast start to the team by scoring a half-century in just 15 balls. Hyderabad, which had scored 75 runs without wicket in 5.4 overs, got a big blow in the last moments of the powerplay, when Mukesh Chaudhary made a comeback in the match by dismissing Travis Head and Ishan Kishan on two consecutive balls.
Abhishek Sharma played an explosive inning of 59 runs in 22 balls, which included 4 sixes and 6 fours. After his dismissal the pace of the team slowed down. Heinrich Klaasen tried to handle the innings by scoring 59 runs in 39 balls, but other batsmen could not make a major contribution. As a result, despite a good start, the team could reach only 194 runs.
Anshul Kamboj took 3 wickets
For Chennai, Jamie Overton and Anshul Kamboj bowled brilliantly and took 3 wickets each, while Mukesh Chaudhary got 2 successes. Due to tight bowling in the last overs, Hyderabad missed out on scoring a big score. Chennai had a very bad start while chasing the target. The team lost three important wickets till the score of 66 runs. Sanju Samson, Ayush Mhatre and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad returned to the pavilion early. Even after this, no batsman could play a big innings in the middle order. Sarfaraz Khan, Matthew Short and Shivam Dubey definitely tried, but could not take the team closer to victory.
In the last over, Chennai needed big runs to win, but Hyderabad bowler Praful Hinge won the match by bowling with excellent control. Chennai team fell 10 runs short of the target in the stipulated 20 overs and Hyderabad registered an important win.
