Hyundai Verna Engine Options: Hyundai has launched its popular sedan, 2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift in the Indian auto market. The company has kept the starting price of the car at ₹ 10.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Verna is available in six variants and many small but major changes have been made in its design, features and safety features. With this update, the company has tried to make the car more premium and comfortable. Let’s take a look at the changes between the new Verna facelift and the outgoing model.

What changed in the exterior design?

The design of the new Hyundai Verna facelift is not entirely new, but it does get some major styling updates. The front of the car now has a dark chrome grille, which makes it more attractive than before. The newly designed LED projector headlamps also get new glass housings.

The front bumper also has a new design, which gives the car a wider and sporty look. However, there is no change in the connected LED DRL strip, and the company logo remains on the bonnet.

The side profile features newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. There are more minor changes at the rear, including a new bumper and diffuser element with silver trim. There is no change in the connected LED tail lamps. Two new color options, Classy Blue and Titan Gray Matte, have also been added.

How much change in the interior?

  • The company has not made much changes in the interior of the new Verna. It has the same dual-tone black and white cabin theme as before.
  • The dashboard has two large 10.25-inch displays, one for the infotainment system and the other for the digital instrument cluster. However, the digital cluster now has new graphics.
  • The car has Hyundai’s Morse Code ‘H’ There is also a new three-spoke steering wheel with logo. The design is inspired by the Venue and Ioniq 5.
  • For comfort, features like 8-way power adjustable driver seat, 4-way power passenger seat and rear sunshade are also provided. Front ventilated seats and center armrest for the rear passenger are also available.

Big change in safety and features

The safety features of the new Verna have been further strengthened. It now has ADAS Level 2 safety features. The car now has seven airbags, whereas earlier it had six. The top variant also has a 360-degree camera. Features like memory function for the driver seat and boss mode for the front passenger seat have also been added, so that the rear passengers can easily adjust the seat.

Price and variants

  • Prices for the new 2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift start at ₹10.98 lakh and go up to ₹18.25 lakh.
  • The base variant costs around ₹18,000 more than the old model, while the top variant is around ₹1.1 lakh more expensive. The company has also changed the names of the variants to HX2, HX4, HX6, HX6+, HX8, and HX10.
  • In the Indian market, this car competes with Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus and Honda City.

Engine and powertrain

There has been no change in the engine of the new Verna. It has a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces around 115 hp power. The 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine also produces 160 hp. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The NA petrol engine also comes with a CVT automatic, while the turbocharged engine also comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
