Hyundai has launched its Verna car in the market with new updates. The update brings some changes to the exterior design of the car, as well as adding new features to the interior. Apart from this, the names of the car variants have also been changed. After these changes, the Verna’s top model HX10 is now being compared directly with the top model Volkswagen Virtus.
Engine specification
Both the Verna and Virtus top models only get an automatic gearbox option. Customers have more options available in Verna. Along with the turbo petrol engine, the option of naturally aspirated petrol engine is also offered.
Whereas the GT Plus variant of the Virtus only gets a 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine. However, other economical variants of the Virtus are also available with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine option.

Exterior Features
Both the cars get LED lights and 16-inch alloy wheels. Auto-folding ORVMs are also available. Virtus is a bit ahead when it comes to fog lamps, as this car has both front and rear fog lamps. Apart from this, both the cars have a rear spoiler. While the Verna gets a large wing spoiler, the Virtus gets a smaller and stylish spoiler at the tailgate.
Both the cars are available in attractive colors and matte finish. But the Verna gets a dual-tone paint option. The top model of Virtus comes with sporty and chrome elements, which make it look more stylish.
Which car is next in features?
In terms of features, the Verna looks a bit ahead. It gets a larger infotainment and digital display screen, more adjustments for the power driver’s seat with memory function, electric boss mode for the front passenger seat and a rear sunshade. The Virtus, on the other hand, features additional adjustment for the power front passenger seat as well as 60:40 split rear seat folding, which is not available in the Verna.

Safety features
Both the cars are strong in terms of safety. Both offer features like ABS, TPMS, ESC and auto-dimming IRVM. However, the Verna gets some advanced technology features like 360 degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, more airbags and parking sensors. These features are not available in Virtus.
In terms of safety, the Volkswagen Virtus has received a 5-star safety rating, so this car is considered very safe. According to Autocar India, the new Verna is yet to be tested, but its predecessor also received a 5-star safety rating.
