‘I apologise’, Gaurav Gogoi convinces Bhupen Bora to resign
Bhupen Kumar Bora, who was the state president of Congress in Assam for a long time, had resigned from the party on Monday. Congress was shaken by such an incident just before the elections and damage control was done immediately. Its result was in the interest of the party and State Congress President Gaurav Gogoi convinced Bhupen Bora. Gaurav Gogoi said that if Bhupen Bora felt bad then he apologizes for it. Gaurav Gogoi also told that Rahul Gandhi has also spoken to Bhupen Bora and resolved the matter. On this occasion, Gaurav Gogoi has described Bhupen Bora as a heritage for Congress.
As soon as the news of Bhupen Bora’s resignation came, Congress state president Gaurav Gogoi and Assam Congress in-charge Bhanwar Jitendra Singh reached his house and came to meet him. Earlier, in his resignation letter sent to Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Bhupen Bora had accused him of neglecting himself and said that he was not being given full rights to work.

What did Gaurav Gogoi say?
Gaurav Gogoi said about Bhupen Kumar Bora, ‘Bhupen Bora is our heritage. He is fighting against the bad guys. We discussed with him for 3 hours. He is a strong leader of Congress. If anything wrong has happened, I apologize to him as a brother. Rahul Gandhi has also talked to Bhupen Bora.

After convincing Bhupen Bora, Congress in-charge Bhanwar Jitendra Singh addressed the media and said, ‘Bhupen Bora had sent his resignation to our national president but that resignation has not been accepted. Sometimes there is disagreement, we discuss and reach a consensus. The leadership had a long discussion with Bhupen Bora. Bhupen Bora had a conversation with Rahul Gandhi for 15 minutes. Our senior leaders sat and talked about our family. This is our internal matter.
After resigning, Bhupen Kumar Bora had said that talks are still going on but many parties have made him offers. Bhupen Bora had also said that Akhil Gogoi has also offered him to come along. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had also offered to include Bhupen Bora in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
