‘I can destroy everything in one attack’, Donald Trump’s big statement on Iran’s funeral, calls Khamenei’s tears ‘fake’

A new boil has come in global politics regarding the funeral of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. US President Donald Trump has made very sharp and controversial comments regarding this program. Trump claimed that the entire remaining leadership of Iran is present together at this funeral and if they wish, they can wipe out the entire leadership in one attack. However, he also said that he will not do so because he has to keep the path of dialogue open with Iran. ‘Fake tears’ and Trump’s taunt: Seeing the huge crowd gathered and people crying during Khamenei’s funeral in Iran, Trump has taunted him. Trump said, "I thought people hate Khamenei, maybe these tears are fake." Taking a tough stance on Trump’s statement, Iran responded on social media through the Iranian Embassy in Armenia. Iran said, "Trump cannot understand these sensibilities, because he has neither civilization, nor history, nor respect."

Funeral under security cover, strict warning from Iran People from Shia community from all over the world are gathering for Khamenei’s funeral, due to which a crowd of crores is estimated. Amid potential lapses in crowd management and security threats, Iran fears attack by the US and Israel. In view of this, the Iranian government issued a strict warning saying that if any kind of attack takes place during this period, a ‘sharp response’ will be given. According to government media, thousands of casualties are feared in a stampede-like situation due to such a large crowd. Diplomacy versus military power Trump made it clear in his statement that he has the ability to eliminate Iran’s top leadership in one fell swoop, but he is choosing the option of talks. Trump argues, "If I eliminate them, who will I talk to?" This statement has come at a time when the chances of a peace agreement between the two countries are increasing. It is noteworthy that Khamenei’s funeral will last for four days and on July 9, he will be laid to rest in his hometown Mashhad. For Iran, this is not only a time of mourning, but also a big challenge to prove its survival and security.
