I copy your development model… Subianto’s big statement regarding PM Modi
Knews Desk- During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Indonesia, a glimpse of friendship and strategic cooperation between the two countries was seen. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto praised India’s development journey and talked about taking inspiration from the policies of Prime Minister Modi.
During a program, President Subianto said in a light tone that he follows Prime Minister Modi’s work and his political journey. He said that they have learned from many programs implemented in India and efforts are being made to adopt them in Indonesia. Subianto said that India and Indonesia have many similar challenges. Despite problems like large population of both the countries, agriculture-based economy and natural disasters, India has made great achievements in the field of development. He said that it is a matter of pride for him to learn from India’s experiences.
He also jokingly said that he is happy that there is no copyright on Prime Minister Modi’s programs, so they can learn from him. After this statement of the President, smiles appeared on the faces of the people present there. Subianto said that a team from Indonesia has returned after studying innovations in the agricultural sector in India. The team looked at how barren land in India has been made cultivable again. He said Indonesia is ready to learn from India and has no hesitation in adopting new ideas for development.
During the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Subianto, many important agreements were also signed between the two countries. To increase cooperation in the defense sector, an agreement related to BrahMos missile was agreed. Apart from this, there was discussion on increasing cooperation in areas like education, technology, agriculture, disaster management, maritime security and important minerals. India is also moving towards setting up centers of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Indonesia. Both countries are also working on connecting cross-border QR payment systems to ease digital payments.
During this, Prime Minister Modi was also honored with the ‘Bintang Adipurna’ award, one of Indonesia’s highest civilian honors. This honor was given in view of his contribution in strengthening India-Indonesia relations. Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Indonesia is considered to give a new direction to the growing strategic, economic and cultural relations between the two countries. This visit is the first leg of his three-nation tour, after which he will visit Australia and New Zealand.
