‘I don’t want to play but to dominate…’ roared Vaibhav Suryavanshi
15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the youngest player to be selected in Team India. He was on Saturday (June 6) selected in the Indian squad for the Asian Games 2026 along with the tour of Ireland and England. Vaibhav caught the attention of the selectors by scoring 776 runs at a strike rate of 237.30 in IPL 2026. After the selection of Team India, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar admitted that Vaibhav had forced the selectors to select him.
After Vaibhav’s selection in the Indian team, his IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals has shared a video. In that video, Vaibhav is seen giving an interview to Rajasthan Royals manager Romi Bhindran, which is probably immediately after the IPL 2026 final. Vaibhav has told in this interview that he has not come just to play, but to dominate for 10 years, 20 years.

‘Dream is to play all three formats…’
Vaibhav is currently selected in the Indian T20 team but he said that his dream is to play One Day International and Test cricket also. This explosive left-handed batsman told that he has been continuously practicing with the red ball. Vaibhav said, ‘I want to play red ball. I like to play red ball and I also practice with red ball. My dream is to play in all three formats. We have to play in such a way that we don’t just have to play, but we have to dominate for 10 years, 20 years.
When Romi Bhinder asked Vaibhav whether he was happy with IPL 2026, Vaibhav said, ‘If we had not lost quick wickets in the last match, we would not have sat and watched the IPL 2026 final, but would have been playing in the final. It would have been nice to have received all these awards after winning. He further said, ‘People ask when will the second trophy come? Hopefully, we will not just win the second trophy, but will win 2,3,4,5 trophies in the coming years.

What did Vaibhav say on meeting Virat Kohli?
Virat Kohli met Vaibhav after the IPL 2026 final. Referring to that moment, Vaibhav said, ‘When Virat bhaiya placed his hand on my shoulder, I actually felt that my dream has come true.’
On winning the Orange Cap, Vaibhav said, ‘It was my dream to touch it once. I didn’t think about it during the tournament. I don’t think, because it catches my eye. Vaibhav further said that whatever stage I play on, I should play well on it and from that you automatically achieve many things.
