‘I remember dancing for Vijayakanth sir when I was a child…’
On why he picked the film, he further elaborated, “When Ponram sir told me that Shanmuga Pandian was the hero of KombuseviI did not think twice. I immediately told him that I had to be a part of it. The script is something I enjoyed listening to after a long time, and the comic timing in the film works really well.”
Yuvan then recalled his first collaboration with the actor. “I had earlier composed music for Captain sir’s Thennavan. Even before that, my brother Karthik Raja had worked on his film Alexander. When my brother got busy with another project, I got the opportunity to do the re-recording for Alexander and also composed one song for the film. That is where my career truly began. Today, composing for Shanmuga Pandian feels like working for someone who is family,” he said.
The cast of the film also includes Tharnika, Anaira Gupta, George Maryan, and Sujith Shankar. The crew of the film also includes Balasubramaniem as the director of photography, Dinesh Ponraj as the editor, Saravana Abiram as the art director, and Phoenix Prabhu and Sakthi Saravanan as the stunt choreographers. Kombusevi is backed by Mukesh T Chelliah under the Star Cinemas banner. It is currently gearing up for release on December 19.
