“I want to become richer than Pakistan”: Shoaib Akhtar

Legendary fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has said that he will be the first billionaire in US dollars from Pakistan. He also wants to become richer than his country. In an appearance on the TNKS podcast, Shoaib Akhtar was asked about his intentions behind working as a cricketer, commentator, and in the real estate field.

Akhtar said that he has a desire to become the first billionaire from Pakistan, and no one can stop him from achieving his goal. “I want to become the first billionaire in US dollars from Pakistan. I also want to earn more money than the entire Pakistan. I am not joking. I am serious about what I am saying,” he said.

Akhtar mentioned that he is the only cricketer in Pakistan who bid adieu to the sport on his terms. He added that the team management made a mistake of not including him in the playing XI for the 2011 World Cup semi-final against Pakistan; otherwise, the Men in Green would have won the trophy.

“I had two games left in me. I told the team management to include me and I won’t let India win the semi-final. If I had played the final, Pakistan would have won the 2011 World Cup,” he added.

Shoaib Akhtar announced his retirement from international cricket after the global tournament in 2011. He has played exhibition matches after retiring and made his last appearance for the Asia Lions in the Legends League Cricket 2022-23.
