‘I will answer questions, Rahul Gandhi will not decide the order’, Amit Shah’s statement in Lok Sabha

Union Home Minister Amit Shah was responding to the ongoing discussion on election reforms in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. At the beginning of his address, he made it clear that BJP leaders never step back on sensitive issues like electoral reforms. He said that discussing this topic is not a challenge for BJP and the party keeps its views openly.

Rahul said that he challenges Amit Shah to openly discuss the questions of ‘vote theft’ raised in his three press conferences. He said that it is necessary to give a clear answer on this issue to the public.

Responding to this challenge, Amit Shah said that he will decide in which order which question should be answered. He said that he will answer all the questions, but it is his right to decide when and how to answer, and not the Leader of the Opposition. Shah said that I will answer all the questions of Rahul Gandhi. I have been elected to Parliament and Assembly for the last 30 years. It has never happened that I have shied away from answering questions. But it is up to me to decide in what order to talk. No one can decide this for me.

Amit Shah further said that it is his responsibility to give correct information to the House and the public. He stressed that he will answer all the allegations that have been made. He also said that the sequential presentation of his speech is in his hands and he will answer in the order he has decided.

Rahul Gandhi reacted to this and said that this is a scared and nervous attitude. He claimed that this answer of Amit Shah is a way of avoiding rather than facing the real challenge.

In response, Shah said that he would not succumb to any kind of provocation and would speak in his own order. He also said that he could clearly see the lines of worry and stress on Rahul Gandhi’s forehead, which shows how he is raising the issue. Amit Shah said that his priority is to give clear information to the House and the public and not to get embroiled in any political controversy.

The Union Home Minister also emphasized the importance of electoral reforms in his speech. He said that work is going on on various reforms to make the electoral process transparent, fair and powerful. He said that BJP’s view is clear that it should be the duty of all parties to strengthen the basis of democracy, voting and elections.
