“This is the place where I first came to play for my school and was selected here. I have a lot of emotions attached to this stadium,” Azad, who played seven Tests and 25 ODIs for the country, said in a YouTube video. And when I see corruption here, where bribes are taken for selection, directors' children get positions ahead of talented youngsters (it hurts me).” He said that the current situation of DDCA hurts him a lot. Azad will be pitted against current Speaker Rohan Jaitley, son of late Arun Jaitley, for the top post. “I have been to many clubs across the country, but I have never seen worse conditions than this club. Cricket is like a religion in this country and the people who come here and vote for the candidates win… so this place A lot of change is needed. “I request the members of DDCA to support me. Our team is new and has no allegations (of wrongdoing)… all are professionals in their field. They are people who want to improve the level of the club as well as cricket.”
