Aditya Dhar’s movie “Dhurandhar” has been taking the box office by storm since its release on 5th December 2025. The film has surpassed the collections of “Pathan”, “Jawaan”, “Chhawa” and many others. While audiences have praised the film, some have criticized it as propaganda due to its political content. According to recent reports, the filmmakers are re-releasing the film with a revised version. About which some updates have come out.

According to Bollywood Hungama, theaters across the country received an email on December 31, 2025, informing them of a change in the film’s DCP (Director of Photography). A source explained, “The reason for this change is that, as per instructions received from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the filmmakers have muted two words and changed one dialogue.”

A new version of “Dhurandhar” will be screened

As per reports, theaters have been asked to download the new version of the film and screen it from January 1, 2026. A film insider further told the website that one word that has been removed from the new version of “Dhurandhar” is “Baloch”. While the film is still doing well in cinemas, it is now set to release in a new version.

Aditya Dhar’s film “Dhurandhar” is completing a month since its theatrical release. The film has crossed 1117.9 crores at the worldwide box office. In India, the film collected 11 crores on day 27 and has collected over 723.25 crores so far. Ranveer Singh is seen in the lead role in the film. He plays an Indian spy who infiltrates terrorists in the Pakistani city of Lyari.

Dhurandhar 2 Release Date

The film is doing well in theatres, but has been banned in the Gulf countries. Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in lead roles. Naveen Kaushik, Soumya Tandon, Naseem Mughal, Danish Pandor and Gaurav Gera also star in lead roles. The second part of the film will hit the theaters on 19 March 2026.
