IB’s catch in ‘Dhurandhar’ amid record breaking earnings, new version released with changes
New Delhi: The film ‘Dhurandhar’, directed by Aditya Dhar, has achieved tremendous success at the box office since its release on 5 December 2025. The film has left behind the collections of big films like ‘Pathan’, ‘Jawaan’ and ‘Chhawa’. Amidst the huge appreciation of the audience, some sections even called it propaganda regarding the politics shown in it. Now meanwhile, a new update has come out regarding the film. The film has come out with some changes in the new year. These changes have been made after instructions received from the government.
According to media reports, on December 31, 2025, an email was sent to theaters across the country, giving information about the revised version of the film. It was told that following the instructions of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, two words have been muted in the film and changes have been made in one dialogue. For this reason a new version of the film was prepared.
Released with a new version in the new year
Sources say that theaters have been instructed to download the new version and show it from January 1, 2026. The report also said that one of the words changed is ‘Baloch’, which has been removed from the new version. At the same time, official information regarding other removed words and changed dialogues has not been revealed yet.
Record breaking earnings continue
Talking about the box office, ‘Dhurandhar’ has made record breaking earnings in just about a month of its release. The film has done a business of more than Rs 1117.9 crore worldwide. The film earned Rs 11 crore on the 27th day in India, taking its domestic collection to Rs 723.25 crore.
Ranveer Singh in lead role
Ranveer Singh has played the lead role in the film. He is seen in the role of an Indian spy, who infiltrates among the terrorists in Lyari area of Pakistan. Although the film is doing well in India, it has been banned in the Gulf countries.
Apart from Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi are in important roles in the film. Naveen Kaushik, Saumya Tandon, Naseem Mughal, Danish Pandor and Gaurav Gera are also a part of the film. The second part of ‘Dhurandhar’ is going to be released in theaters on 19 March 2026.
