Players were booked separately
According to reports of news agency PTI, tickets of players from South Africa and West Indies have been booked in different commercial flights. All players cannot be booked in the same plane, but ICC has taken care of individual booking. ICC Chairman Jay Shah himself has talked about this with the players and has assured them of sending them safely to their country.
West Indies head coach Darren Sammy returns home
The source also told that West Indies head coach Darren Sammy has left for his country on the night of Monday, i.e. March 9. South Africa and West Indies played their last match in Kolkata. West Indies played its last match against India in the Super-8. Whereas South Africa played the semi-final match against New Zealand in Kolkata itself. Since then, players of both the teams have not been able to fly due to the ban on international air space in some parts of Western Asia.
Problems due to closure of air space in Dubai
Due to the ongoing tension in West Asia, many airlines are avoiding flying through the restricted routes. Let us tell you that ICC’s partner airline is Emirates, but Dubai Due to closure of air space, Emirates is not able to operate its flights.

Why was the chartered plane cancelled?
According to the information shared earlier, a chartered plane was scheduled to leave from Kolkata for Johannesburg on the afternoon of March 10. From there, the West Indies team was to go to Antigua, but after this an official of the Bengal Cricket Association informed that due to some problems, the flight was canceled at the last moment, a few hours before the scheduled time. He cited problems related to logistics as the reason for this.
