West Indies players’ return home confirmed
According to the information coming out quoting Times of India, special arrangements have been made by the ICC for the West Indies team to return home. The team will leave for home on Friday by chartered plane. While talking on this matter, S source said that West Indies will go to their home by chartered plane on Friday. Another source said that ICC Chairman Jay Shah and CEO Sanjog Gupta were in constant touch with the West Indies team so that they could send the team back home safely.
Earlier in the year 2024, Jay Shah had set an example of being in charge despite being the Secretary of BCCI. He also brought the Indian journalists stranded in Barbados on the flight with the Indian team. Even at that time he was greatly appreciated.
Zimbabwe team went back in pieces
Apart from West Indies, Zimbabwe players were also stuck in India due to bad conditions in the Middle East. The team’s flight was to go via Dubai but it got canceled due to this war. In such a situation, arrangements were made by the ICC to send the players home through another route. The team players are returning home in different batches. One batch of some players has returned home while another batch is yet to leave. According to the information coming out, ICC is now preparing travel plans for South Africa and they can be sent through Ethiopian Airlines.
