This time three players have been shortlisted for this honour. The special thing is that players from Pakistan, England and America are included in this list.

Sahibzada Farhan scored record breaking runs

In this list released by ICC, the name of Pakistan’s opening batsman Sahibzada Farhan comes first. Farhan batted brilliantly in the T20 World Cup 2026 and scored the most runs in the tournament. Even though Pakistan team could not reach the semi-finals, Farhan caught everyone’s attention with his performance. He scored a total of 383 runs in the entire tournament. Earlier, the record of scoring the most runs in a single edition of the T20 World Cup was in the name of India’s Virat Kohli, who scored 319 runs in 2014.

Sahibzada Farhan created a new history by breaking this record. He also scored two centuries in this tournament. He scored his first century against Namibia, while the second century came against Sri Lanka. He has also become the first batsman to score two centuries in the same edition of the T20 World Cup.

Will Jacques’ all-round performance

The second name in this list is that of England all-rounder Will Jacques. The England team was successful in reaching the semi-finals in the T20 World Cup 2026 and Jacques had an important contribution in this journey. Jacques performed brilliantly with both bat and ball in the tournament. Along with scoring 194 runs, he also took 11 wickets. Due to his all-round performance, he also received the Player of the Match award four times. He has become the first player to win this award four times in a single edition of the T20 World Cup.

The third name in this ICC list is that of American fast bowler Shadley Van Schalkwyk. This left-arm fast bowler bowled brilliantly in the T20 World Cup 2026 and took a total of 13 wickets. He surprised everyone by taking four wickets against India in his very first match. After this, in the second match also, he took four wickets and put his team in a strong position.
