ICC President Jay Shah meets players of Ranji Trophy winning Jammu and Kashmir cricket team

New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir cricket team has created history by winning the Ranji Trophy title for the first time. Jammu and Kashmir won its first title by defeating a strong team like Karnataka. The team is receiving congratulations from every section of the country on this historic success. ICC President Jay Shah also met the players of Jammu and Kashmir cricket team.

BCCI congratulated the entire Jammu and Kashmir team and the cricket world for writing a wonderful chapter in Indian domestic cricket. Also thanked Shah for meeting the winning team.

Jammu and Kashmir created history at the Hubli Cricket Ground by winning the Ranji Trophy 2025–26 title on the basis of a huge first innings lead against eight-time champions Karnataka. After scoring 584 runs in the first innings, Jammu and Kashmir bowled out Karnataka for 293 runs to take a crucial lead of 291 runs.

Jammu and Kashmir showed their dominance by declaring their second innings at 342/4 with the help of opener Kamran Iqbal’s unbeaten 160 and his unbroken century partnership with Sahil Lotra. The match was a draw and Jammu and Kashmir was declared the winner on the basis of first innings lead. The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir has announced a reward of Rs 2 crore for this historic success of the team.
