ICC Ranking: Joe Root again becomes number-1 Test batsman, Akil Hussain wins in T20
The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest rankings of Test and T20 players on Wednesday. England's star batsman Joe Root once again won the number-1 crown in the Test rankings. He defeated compatriot Harry Brook to take the top spot.
Joe Root's reign
Joe Root has now reached the first position in the ranking of Test batsmen with 895 rating points.
- Previous performance: In the third Test against New Zealand, Root played important innings of 54 and 32 runs.
- Performance of Harry Brook: Brook scored only 1 run in the same match and could not even open the account in the first innings.
- Brook lost 22 points and slipped to second place with 876 points.
Kane Williamson's third position
New Zealand's legendary batsman Kane Williamson is in third place with 867 points.

- Williamson is now only 28 points away from Root.

West Indies spinner Akil Hussain has topped the rankings for T20 bowlers.
- With 707 points, Akil left England's Adil Rashid behind.
- Adil Rashid: Second place with 701 marks.
- Akil's performance:
- In the first T20 against Bangladesh, he took 2 wickets for 13 runs.
- However, West Indies lost that match by 7 runs.
