ICC Ranking: Shubman Gill again becomes number one batsman in ODI, Suryavanshi’s big leap in T20

Dubai, 29 July. Indian captain Shubhman Gill once again became the world number one ODI batsman in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings released on Wednesday, while teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a huge jump of 230 places in the T20 International rankings with the help of his good performance against Zimbabwe and reached 48th position.

Gill overtook Kiwi batsman Daryl Mitchell

Shubman has overtaken New Zealand batsman Daryl Mitchell to take the top spot in the ODI rankings. Mitchell had been holding the top position since January this year. Suryavanshi scored 151 runs at an average of 50.33, including two half-centuries, in three T20 Internationals against Zimbabwe. With his brilliant performance he was successful in making it to the top 50. Suryavanshi has 536 rating points.

Ishan Kishan remains the number one batsman in T20

Whereas Ishan Kishan remains the number one batsman in T20. He has 910 rating points. He has maintained a good lead over second placed Sahibzada Farhan (848) of Pakistan. Tilak Verma moved up two places to sixth position while T20 team captain Shreyas Iyer moved up seven places to 24th position.

Injured Varun Chakraborty remains in top 10 despite slipping

Leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi has moved up 31 places to 41st in the T20 bowlers’ list. Varun Chakraborty, who was out of the Zimbabwe tour due to injury, slipped three places, but remains in the top 10.
